متحدہ عرب امارات اور اسرائیل کے اعلیٰ سفارتی عہدے داروں نے اتوار کے روزامریکا کی ریاست کیلی فورنیا کے بڑے شہر لاس اینجلس میں ملاقات کی ہے۔دونوں ملکوں کے نمایندوں میں امریکا کے مغربی ساحلی علاقے میں یہ پہلی ملاقات ہے۔
لاس اینجلس میں اماراتی قونصل جنرل الہزہ الکعبی اور اسرائیلی قونصل جنرل ہلیل نیومین نے لاس اینجلس میں یو اے ای کے قونصل خانے میں بالمشافہ ملاقات کی ہے اور انھوں نے دوطرفہ تعاون اور شراکت داری کے مواقع کے بارے میں تبادلہ خیال کیا ہے۔
اماراتی قونصل خانے کے ایک بیان کے مطابق الکعبی نے شمال مغربی بحرالکاہل میں اسرائیلی قونصل جنرل شلومی کوفمین سے بھی ورچوئل بات چیت کی ہے۔

متحدہ عرب امارات اور اسرائیل نے 13 اگست کو دوطرفہ تعلقات کے قیام کا اعلان کیا تھا اور 15 ستمبر کو وائٹ ہاؤس میں دو طرفہ سفارتی اور تجارتی تعلقات استوار کرنے کے لیے تاریخی امن معاہدے پر دست خط کیے تھے۔اس کے بعد سے دونوں ملکوں کے درمیان مختلف شعبوں میں دوطرفہ تعاون کے فروغ کے لیے متعدد سمجھوتے طے پاچکے ہیں اور ان کے سرکاری اور سفارتی حکام کے درمیان میل ملاقاتوں کا سلسلہ بھی جاری ہے۔
تاریخی امن معاہدے پر دست خطوں کے ایک ہفتے کے بعد 22 ستمبر کو آذر بائیجان میں متعیّن امارات اور اسرائیل کے سفیروں نے دارالحکومت باکو میں ملاقات کی تھی۔اس ٹاکرے کی دلچسپ بات یہ تھی کہ اسرائیلی سفیر جارج دیک نے یو اے ای کے قائم مقام سفیر سے عربی زبان میں گفتگو کی تھی۔
انھوں نے بعد میں العربیہ انگلش سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا تھا:’’اماراتی ہم منصب سے عربی زبان میں گفتگو اس بات کی مظہر ہے کہ ہم ہمسائے ہیں،ایک ہی جگہ سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں،اسرائیل اور عرب مل جل کر ایک ایسی دنیا کے فروغ کے لیے مکالمے اور باہمی احترام کے ذریعے کام کرسکتے ہیں اور کریں گے جو زیادہ خوش حال اور پُرامن ہوگی۔‘‘
نائیجیریا میں متعیّن اسرائیلی اور اماراتی سفیروں نے بھی گذشتہ ماہ ملاقات کی تھی۔اسرائیلی سفیر شمعون بن شوشان نے یو اے ای کے نائیجیریا میں سفارت خانے کے ناظم الامور خلیفہ المہریزی کا عربی زبان میں ’’السلام علیکم‘‘ کہہ کر خیر مقدم کیا تھا۔
