عراق کے جنوبی شہر بصرہ میں جمعے کے روز سیکورٹی فورسز اور مظاہرین کے درمیان جھڑپیں ہوئیں۔ اس موقع پر مظاہرین کو منتشر کرنے کے لیے ہوائی فائرنگ کی گئی۔ مظاہرین سماجی کارکنان کی سلسلہ وار ہلاکتوں کے خلاف اور قاتلوں کے احتساب کا مطالبہ کر رہے تھے۔
سیکورٹی ذرائع کے مطابق مشتعل مظاہرین نے بصرہ میں پارلیمانی دفتر کو آگ لگا دی۔ احتجاجی عناصر عمارت پر آتش گیر بم پھینک رہے تھے اس دوران سیکورٹی فورسز نے فائرنگ کر دی۔
واضح رہے کہ مظاہرین دو سماجی کارکنان کے قتل اور کئی دیگر کے زخمی ہونے کے بعد بصرہ کے گورنر کی برطرفی کا مطالبہ کرنے کے لیے پارلیمانی دفتر کے سامنے جمع ہوئے تھے۔ ان کارکنان کو گذشتہ چند روز کے دوران مسلح افراد نے تین مختلف حملوں میں موت کی نیند سلا دیا تھا۔
مظاہرین کو پارلیمانی دفتر کی عمارت سے دور کرنے کی کوششیں کی جا رہی ہیں۔ احتجاج کرنے والوں کو مطالبہ ہے کہ صوبے میں ہلاک ہونے والے سماجی کارکنان کے قاتلوں کا احتساب کیا جائے۔عمارت میں آگ لگنے کے بعد شہری دفاع کی ٹیمیں جائے وقوع پر پہنچ گئیں اور آگ پر قابو پانے کی کوششیں شروع کر دیں۔

دوسری جانب بصرہ کی پولیس نے اعلان کیا ہے کہ وہ مظاہرین کی جانب سے آتش گیر بموں کے استعمال اور پتھراؤ کے باوجود انتہائی درجے کی تحمل مزاجی کا مظاہرہ کر رہی ہے۔ پولیس کے مطابق “مظاہرے کے موقع پر تمام تر مطلوبہ حفاظتی اقدامات کرنے کے باوجود سیکورٹی فورسز کے ساتھ برعکس طریقے سے پیش آیا گیا۔ اس دوران جلتے ہوئے شیشوں اور پتھروں کا استعمال ہوا جس کے نتیجے میں سیکورٹی فورسز کے اہل کار زخمی ہوئے۔ یہ سب کچھ ایسے وقت میں ہو رہا ہے جب کہ سیکورٹی فورسز مظاہرین کے تحفظ اور مظاہرے کے علاقے کو محفوظ بنانے کے لیے اپنی ذمے داریاں پوری طرح انجام دے رہی ہیں .. آتش گیر بموں اور پتھروں کا استعمال قانون کی خلاف ورزی شمار ہوتی ہے۔ اس کا مقصد صرف یہ ہے کہ پر امن مظاہرے کو پٹری سے اتار دیا جائے اور یہ صوبے میں امن و امان کی صورت حال خراب کرنے کی کوشش ہے”۔
پولیس نے تمام پُر امن مظاہرین سے تعاون کا مطالبہ کیا تا کہ تشدد کی کارروائیوں کو بھڑکانے والے عناصر کو روکا جا سکے جن کے جواب میں قانون کے مطابق جوابی اقدام لازم ہو جاتا ہے۔
یاد رہے کہ خاتون سماجی کارکن ریہام یعقوب کو بدھ کے روز قتل کر دیا گیا تھا جب کہ حملے میں ریہام کے تین ساتھی کارکنان زخمی ہو گئے۔ موٹر سائیکل پر سوار نا معلوم مسلح افراد ان کی گاڑی کو اندھادھند فائرنگ کا نشانہ بنایا تھا۔ واضح رہے کہ ریہام کو ان عوامی احتجاجی مظاہروں میں شرکت سے شہرت حاصل ہوئی تھی جو عراق میں حکمراں طبقے ، کوٹہ سسٹم ، بدعنوانی اور ایران کی ہمنوا ملیشیاؤں کے کنٹرول کے خلاف ہوئے تھے۔
یہ رواں ہفتے تیسرا واقعہ ہے جب مسلح افراد نے کسی سیاسی یا سماجی کارکن کو نشانہ بنایا۔ اس سے قبل ایک دوسرے واقعے میں گاڑی پر فائرنگ کر کے ایک کارکن کو ہلاک اور چار کو زخمی کر دیا گیا تھا۔یاد رہے کہ ہلاکتوں کا حالیہ سلسلہ گذشتہ ہفتے جنوبی شہر بصرہ میں سماجی کارکن تحسين اسامہ کے قتل کے ساتھ شروع ہوا۔ عراق کے جنوب میں تشدد کی حالیہ لہر شروع ہونے کے بعد تین روز مسلسل سڑکوں پر مظاہرے ہوئے۔ اس دوران سیکورٹی فورسز نے مظاہرین پر براہ راست فائرنگ بھی کی جنہوں نے بصرہ کے گورنر کی رہائش گاہ پر پتھراؤ کیا اور متعدد مرکزی راستے بند کر دیے۔
دوسری جانب عراقی وزیر اعظم مصطفی الکاظمی نے پیر کے روز بصرہ کی پولیس اور نیشنل سیکورٹی کے عہدے داران کو برطرف کر کے پرتشدد کارروائیوں کی تحقیقات کا حکم دیا تھا۔ اس اقدام نے مظاہرین کو ٹھنڈا کر دیا تھا مگر اس دوران ریہام یعقوب کا قتل عوام کو ایک بار پھر سڑکوں پر لے آیا۔
